Since you may not have experienced a critical accident before, you will want to get a helmet that has been rated high among previous users. Otherwise you are taking a risk on whether it will give you the proper safety. Even if the previous users did not have a wreck with it on, they have most likely dropped it hard enough at one time or another to create a stress crack in the helmet. Having a motorcycle seems to bring out that hidden rebel within you, but don't be a rebel when it comes to your safety.
