Motorcycle Helmet Headset

"Enjoy your ride more with a Motorcycle Helmet Headset"

When a person decides that they want to use a motorcycle helmet headset radio, they should ask themselves whether they want if for talking back and forth with a passenger, or if they want it for listening to some of their favorite tunes, or do they want the helmet radio to do both.

Radio’s and speakers can be installed in either full face or open face helmet, however they should be installed properly in order to get the maximum effect that you would want. Radios such as walkman, Mp3 players, or just a simple radio, will all do very well. However, if you are looking to talk to a passenger, you will need to use two helmets. This system can be purchased, which uses a wire for communicating with each other.

If you desire to communicate with another motorcycle, or a friend in a car, you would have to purchase and install a two-way radio system in your helmet, and your friend, whether they are on a bike or in a car, will have to have the other radio. These features can be purchased, and installed for you for a small fee. You can purchase Bluetooth adapters, or iPod FM transmitters, bike-to-bike stereo Bluetooth sets, or a bike-to-bike intercom system, from many motorcycle websites on the internet. The prices these websites offer are very affordable, and not all that expensive.

There are many websites on the internet that offer motorcycle helmet radio’s for different purposes. You can choose items from name brand manufactures such as, Chatterbox, J&M, IMC, Camos, Griffin, and many other manufacturers.

If you do not like having earbuds inside your ears, you will need speakers installed inside the helmet itself. Earbuds do interfere with hearing traffic and conversations around you, so speakers that are installed inside your helmet do not press against your ears. Placing the speakers a short distance behind your ear it will be fine, but you would want the speakers padded in case of an accident, and the unpadded speakers would inflict its own injuries to you. If you prefer to install the motorcycle helmet radio yourself, you should be aware where everything goes as you take out the padding. Since you are making some new adjustments for the speakers, the adjustment for adding the speakers may change somewhat. By cutting the Styrofoam the exact size of the speaker, it should not be hard to replace the lining.

If you want dual speakers, you will have to do the same thing to the other side of the helmet. Once you are almost finished and all you have to do is to replace the lining, you should slowly and without using force, put your helmet back on your head. Notice if the fit is snug and if you will have to make another adjustment for the lining to fit comfortably.

If the helmet fits comfortably, you should then sit on your bike and after you start the motor, you should then test your new equipment to ensure yourself that everything works the way you want it to. Hopefully, you have done everything right and will not have to do any further adjustments.
